Travelling to and in Munich

LMU Munich offers an event ticket for rail travel to the GAA conference, which allows you to travel at a lower price.

Prices are as follows:

When booking a specific train:
2nd class: 51,90 Euro
1st class: 84,90 Euro

When not booking a specific train:
2nd class: 72,90 Euro
1st class: 106,90 Euro

When arriving at Munich central station (Hauptbahnhof) by train take the subway line U4 or U5 (U4: direction “Arabellapark”; U5: direction “Neuperlach Süd”) and get off at “Odeonsplatz”. From “Odeonsplatz” take the subway line U6 or U3 (U6: direction “Garching Forschungszentrum/Münchner Freiheit”; U3: direction “Moosach”) and Get off in the front part of the train at the stop “Universität”. Use the staircase in the direction of travel.

!!!From Monday, 12 June until approx. Sunday, 30 July 2023 the turnout system south of Sendlinger Tor underground station will be renewed. Thus U3 and U6 will be interrupted in the city center. A replacement bus service as well as a shuttle train will be provided instead. 

By plane

Get to Munich international airport (MUC). If you want to proceed by public transport, take the S-Bahn (S1 or S8) to “Marienplatz” and change to the subway line U6 or U3 (U6: direction “Garching Forschungszentrum/Münchner Freiheit”; U3: direction “Moosach”). Get off in the front part of the train at the stop “Universität”. Use the staircase in the direction of travel.
